Weight-loss expert Dr. Mark Hyman said a low-carb, sugar-free diet prevents obesity, cardiovascular disease and diabetes, he told the NY Daily News Feb. 11.
“Some animal studies show that sugar is eight times more addictive than cocaine,” said Dr. Hyman, who detailed the research in his new book, The 10-Day Detox Diet.
“Sugar is the new nicotine. Sugar is the new fat — except fat is not addictive in the way that sugar is. And worse, sugar actually causes diabetes and obesity.”
