The path to better health and fitness can be a twisty curvy trail with pitfalls on all sides. Stray too far to one side or the other and you can find yourself stuck in a rut, frustrated with lack of progress and ready to turn around and give up.

One of the reasons people fail at their fitness goals is their inability to stay on the center of the path. Even if their intentions are good, there’s a “fine line” that, when crossed, makes making progress extremely difficult.

For example, those trying to lose weight sometimes “diet too hard,” severely restricting their calories. These diets may take off weight in the beginning, but they’re too difficult to maintain. Eventually the weight comes back on.
