It amuses me when people squabble on social media and fitness forums about “which is more important for weight loss, diet or exercise?” The fact is, to look and feel in great shape, you need to get both right.

Sure, you can lose weight by diet alone, but you’ll find it a lot harder to keep it off that way. Plus it probably won’t give you the sexy, sculpted shape most people hope slimming down will reveal. People often end up appearing skinnier and sometimes less healthy than when they were carrying the excess pounds if they don’t include exercise in their slim-down strategy.

To a lesser extent, depending on what you’re eating and what your goals are, it’s also possible to change the shape of your body through exercise without changing your diet. But modifying what you eat will almost certainly make the journey to getting the body you want a hell of a lot easier and quicker.
